CHRISTMAS DAY IN ENGLAND
All morning mother roasts the Turkey in the oven, we usually invite friends and relatives who arrive in time for a late lunch. Children open their presents under the Christmas tree. Early afternoon - it's feast time!
Father sharpens the knife and carves the bird.
We all help ourselves to potatoes and vegetables, but the Turkey and stuffing are the most wanted items.
As the adults fall asleep, stuffed with beautiful food, the kids play with their new toys.
Next day (Boxing Day) we have cold Turkey with maybe mashed potatoes and vegetables. After that, Turkey sandwiches are a treat to look forward to.
When the meat is all gone, stew the carcass in boiling water, with herbs, and veggies for a hearty soup.
